| So I'm thinking if we should group the Dirge RP threads in a Present-time board, and have a separate Histories board underneath? That way people can keep track of their plot-lines, and RP out past events if they want to.
So, in the Histories board, you can participate in as many threads as you want, since they're all events of the past.
But in the Present board, people may only be present in one thread at a time. So if in the present thread, for example, Rick Astley is being no stranger to love to Lady Gaga in a room, that means he cannot also be outside the building giving up and letting other people down. He must first leave the Lady Gaga thread before he can do that. That means, at one time, you cannot be replying in two different threads in the Present board, whereas in the Histories board you can.
And to make things easier for people following your threads, link to the next thread at the bottom of your last post when you move from one place to another, like a [CONTINUED HERE] note or something, and ask a mod to lock that thread once all characters have left it. Once you've got a new thread going, link back to the one you just left, e.g. a [CONTINUED FROM HERE] statement. That way anyone new can follow back through the threads and will be able to follow the story, and it'll make everything tidier and more convenient in general.
IF YOU GUYS ARE DOING THIS ALREADY THEN IGNORE ME FFF. ;_; Or is this system unnecessary...
Suggestions: - Set up an Archive board as well? Pretty self-explanatory, this one, doesn't have to be a whole separate board, just like, a place to put finished threads underneath all the other boards. - Put up a survival guide, or something that contains all the miscellaneous and nitty-gritty info about the settings. Like what's the weather usually like, what sort of monsters are there roaming around, what animals are there to survive on, STUFF LIKE THAT. - RAH RAH AH AH AH

| y-you slay me D| UT YOUR EXAMPLES ARE SUBLIME.
A Histories board is a great idea! So is an archive but we don't have to worry about that just yet.
Instead of being mostly location-based, though, unless they move from Canopy to Street to Subcity, they won't have to leave a thread unless everyone agrees that particular thread is concluded.... one thread in a location is an event that CAN span to many places in one level if it needs to...
wwwait though, there can be people in other threads in the same location at the same time, and to cross paths they'd have to change threads.. either one lot will move to the other thread or both parties make a new thread, since meeting up WOULD be kinda a new event. But yeah, linking to new thread should happen, and archives will put it all in chronological order when the time comes 8D
SURVIVAL GUIDE WOULD BE GREAT ACTUALLY WHAT'D MAKE IT EVEN BETTER IS I might write it from Luke's perspective that would be awful, awful, awful C%

| GUH MEANT TO REPLY TO THIS SOONER sorry sorry
okay so take the Waking Trial for example, so first everyone's posting a reply to that thread, and just...YEAH POST IT ALL (should there be an order? or just....whatever, first come first served) and they can just make a new thread when they meet up with their partner to establish things...okay yeah THAT'S WHAT YOU SAID fff okay okay uh
i'm thinking that the rp'ers can just work these bits out for themselves? :I NOT IDIOTS ETC as long as they link their threads and make the storyline follow-able i guess anything goes, within reason :III
ALSO YEAH SURVIVAL GUIDE also misc info and SPECIAL CHARACTERS like Luke/Trixie >:F
guh it's late IF I'M NOT BEING CLEAR tell meeeheeee

| I worship those examples now
BUT YEAH! This is teh awesomesauce suggestions! OvO Except that location-based is good because then when characters change locations they can meet the characters who are in the other location and... well... but then the people already RPing in that location would have to abandon their current thread and go into the new thread that was created to meet the newcomers, or the newcomers could just start RPing in the thread already created by the people RPing there. idk
And each thread would have a "private RP" or "open RP" label on it, and I'll I'll let you guys deal with this I think I might only confuse us @.@;; I think I'm just repeating stuff you already know, anyways. xD

| The problem with completely location-based instead of event based is I've noticed people find it too troublesome and abandon it pretty quick D': I'm trying to figure out a way to organize it, links included, that won't be TOO-TOO tiresome and stuff. | |

| xDD Maybe you can just post in GIANT BOLD LETTERS a link to the next place and be all like OK THIS THREAD OVER PEEPS MIGRATE ELSEWHERE NOW
I think location-based is great as long as it doesn't take things too far. And I notice how if you keep everyone in the same topic more and prevent too many new topics from being created so that active people spread out, the RP tends to last longer!
I know a literate RP that's lasted like. Many years. And guess what? It only has ONE THREAD XDD The entire world is RPed in one thread and people just don't respond to posts in the same thread that take place in a different location in the RP world ovo;; It's simpler than it sounds I guess?

| I know it works different a lot of places, one-thread, event-based and whatever. I've been in each kind, too. The idea for what I'm saying is that one thread can span a lot of places in the same thread, and then get closure to the events before moving on to the next "chapter" or thread. What you said about spreading active users out is why I'm TRYING to keep people in certain threads for a while before starting a new one. Bold letters/noticeability aren't the problem, it's interrupting an RP to pick up and go elsewhere. Like I said I've done just about every kind and that is the huge problem with purely location-based.
That's why it's three locations that cover HUGE areas that are very separate from each other.
I do plan to do the open, pre-arranged and private threads, that's a great way to organize it all. It's all gonna have to happen after everyone wakes up, but once things start get rolling a bit faster it'll be great, I hope C:
