Survival/Horror/Junkpunk/Post-Apo Links and Discussion

Been thinking about Survival Horror/Splatterpunk/Post Apocalyptic/Junkpunk genres and my favorite things in those genres and figured WHY DON'T WE ALL SHARE SOME?

The thing that made me really think of this is King of Thorn.

But it's... actually one of my most favorites ever 8I
It's pretty damn well done for what it is, it's got cinematic scripting and variant characters unlike a lot of other manga. It plays out on the page like an American survival-horror movie, the GOOD ones before "Sy-Fy" raped the genre with hundreds of bad made-for-TV movies.
(knocking off more than half the cast within a few pages? Brutal.)
The monsters are pretty amazing too. So I went to check it out and BAM

They are making a movie of it and releasing it worldwide.

FGSFSHJK. YES. I don't mean to fangirl but it looks like something they actually put EFFORT into for once.

The main character is kinda EH, but Ron Portman and Marco Owen more than make up for her.

no Sarky is cooler than her but that does make sense IT MAKES ME FEEL A LITTLE BETTER PRETENDING IT'S SARKY now I just have to replace the dialogue...

also geek kid is adorable bawwww. he...he kinda looks exactly like my programming TA except taller. so now i am EVEN MORE AMUSED

AND WHILE I'M AT IT: RubyQuest. Kinda apocalypticish, at least in feel, probably relevant here if just for the 'experiment' idea (along with some other parallels but I won't mention those for spoilers), and definitely mindscrewey and a billion types of creepy. It was originally some sort of interactive story thing going on in /tg/, I don't know, but it's very good.

And now I am off to class! Also holy shit I am loving this King of Thorns thing so much. Even though I think the only person's name I know right now is Marco Owen's.... and Peter ;^;

I'm suspecting conspiracy and possibly evil stoners.
