| Name: Edgar J. Leeward Gender: Male Age: 24 Personality: Quiet, kind, and a little socially awkward. Edgar is notoriously optimistic, though tends to be shy around people he isn't familiar with. A born punching bag, he puts up with a lot abuse. Edgar operates under the assumption that if you give someone enough chances, eventually they'll do the right thing. He tries his hardest not to judge anyone and is always kind and respectful when speaking. In other words, he suffers from chronic Nice Guy syndrome. Edgar is very much a Romantic, in all senses of the word. He loves books and is fascinated by literature. He collects words, a hobby that has lead to a rather formal speaking pattern, because he thinks literary eloquence is charming. Trusting and hopeful, he tries to focus only on the positive aspects of people and situations. He always puts the well-being of others before his own needs, and tends to run himself ragged because of it. Appearance: Edgar would probably be very handsome if he had a few good meals and a week's worth of rest in him. But insomnia and poor eating habits have left him worn and tired looking, with characteristic dark circles beneath his eyes. Fairly tall and lanky, he stands at a decent 5' 10 1/2" and has dark, curly hair and not enough meat on him. So basically he looks like this, give or take an outfit update. This is a bit closer to what his clothes will probably be like upon first entering The Pit. Background:A college dropout who studied either medicine or literature; he's equally versed in both. Edgar was on his way to being a distinguished student when monetary issues forced him into debt and out of school. What he remembers of being young seems to center around his role as the pet target of schoolyard bullies, and a lifetime spent escaping into fiction and fantasy. He remembers a family, maybe. There are faces that seem like a set of parents and younger siblings; a boy and girl. He thinks he was a brother once, but the endless streams of ink and paper that he so greedily devoured during his childhood are so much clearer in his mind than any family life. He can more readily quote Shakespeare than recall his father's name, a fact that is going to haunt him for a while. Classification: Psychic. Edgar is a healer of sorts, and posses an involuntary trait that becomes active whenever his bare hands make contact with someone else's skin. This incites rapid tissue growth/repair in whoever was touched-- which heals the injured but can have adverse effects if contact is maintained for too long, or if the person didn't have any obvious wounds. Imagine some accidental scar tissue, or in the worst possible scenario, some nasty tumors. In any case, he's going to need to find some gloves very quickly. The process is a big energy drain, so the longer Edgar has to hold onto someone, the more strain it puts on him. Healing deep wounds leaves him incapacitated and exhausted. And this is a completely aesthetic thing, butttt I thought maybe it would be interesting if there was some physical manifestation attributed to the use of his power. Like, the more he uses it the more scarred his own hands become. But that's just me talking to myself-- I might scrap the idea later so yeaaaaah... Partner: Eamon Flanigan

| Name: Theo (Theodore) Warden Gender: Male Age: 21 Personality: Theo is nothing if not a social creature. He loves being around other people, though not necessarily being the center of attention. He just likes the company of being surrounded by others, and will seek out a crowd if he has the chance. Upbeat and cheerful, Theo considers it pointless to dwell on negative emotions. According to him, being extensively angry or depressed about something never makes it better. So when Theo does get upset it's usually a very brief and very violent outburst. Then he's straight back to being chipper with his regular smile on his face, completely and totally over whatever just set him off. It usually takes a lot of duress to get him to break down. Because of his cheerful nature, Theo tends to come off as naive and a bit dense. He can be witty and sarcastic depending on who he's with, but for the most part he's incredibly good natured. Sometimes Theo does stupid things because it doesn't occur to him that something bad could happen. Though he does have an inkling of self preservation that will pop up during dire situations. Theo's favorite things are boys, beer, and anything Irish. His least favorite things are his full name, the nickname "Teddy," and being alone. Appearance: Okay, so picture the epitome of a redheaded stepchild. Got that mental image? Good. That's basically Theo. Ginger-haired, green-eyed, short-statured, and plastered in freckles (Seriously, they're everywhere). Theo looks incredibly Irish and is very proud of the fact. He's a little bit stocky and has a kind of a round face, which makes him look a little younger than he actually is. Here's a doodle, I need to get a better one up later. Background: All Theo remembers of his past is that he had an older sister who was more like a mother to him, and that he worked in a bakery once. Oddly enough he seems to remember everyday tidbits of life just fine, but nothing from his personal family history. It's become something of a quest of his to "figure out my empty head," though he doesn't seem too bothered about the memory loss. Classification: Bioelectric. Theo generates and uses an internal charge to produce something like a shield made out of sparks. Or, if someone is close enough, he can detonate a charge that can knock people away from him. Mostly defensive. Partner: Mai Maka | |

| Name: Daniel Dawes Gender: Male Age: mid 20's to early 30's. He's not sayin'. Personality: Daniel lives his life behind a mask of detached indifference. He is cool and calculating and quietly mean, intelligent in that sharp way feral animals are. He prides himself in being cold and unflappable, professional and efficient, as well as in keeping up an uninterested front. Daniel tries his hardest not to outwardly express what he's thinking, though he's prone to succumbing to his short temper. He's easy to anger and incredibly patient, so he holds a terrible grudge. Daniel operates under his own odd set of morals, which he believes places him above common law, but does not excuse others. Anyone who gets in his way, he instinctively hates. Towards most everyone else, he's completely indifferent. There is a small circle of people that Daniel generally cares for, though he'll never express this affection besides perhaps “tolerating” them more than other people. Women are a special case, though. Daniel respects them a great deal and treats them in a very chivalrous manner. Though if a woman is tenacious enough to cross him, all niceties are revoked and he'll treat her like any other sort of opposition: a simple obstacle to be stepped over. Appearance: Tall, well-groomed, and impeccably neat, Daniel is a classically handsome, sharp-featured man. He's mildly vain about his appearance, and filth on his expensive suits frustrates the hell out of him. Daniel prefers dark colors and clean lines, crisp ties and neat buttondowns. And, if he can manage it, always having a classy hat. Background: Daniel, surprisingly, remembers most of his life from before the Pit, but he'll be damned if he's going to say anything about it. Just before being dragged to his new location, he was running with a small but very efficient gang of smugglers. The three other members of the crew were a few of the only people Daniel actually trusted. Classification: (Workin' on this doop doop. Not really set in stone just yet) [Genetic?] Simply, Daniel does not register pain. A crack to the jaw is just a minor deterrent before he's coming after you again. Broken bones? Nothin'. Grievous harm can still incapacitate him, but fuck if he won't try to get back on his feet anyway. Partner: Luka Li & Akida | |
